Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer for NPD Lighting & Lifestyle in Milwaukee, WI. Lead embedded electronics design, firmware development, and rigorous testing across complex projects. Mentor junior engineers, drive milestones, and ensure regulatory compliance (UL, CEC, CE, ANSI). Travel up to 10% may be required.

You will collaborate with global teams to deliver high-quality electrical systems from concept through validation while maintaining schedules and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive experience as an Electrical Engineer; or 2+ years with a Master's degree.
• Strong knowledge of analog/digital hardware tradeoffs, signal integrity, and margin considerations.
• Experience with power electronics design, supply design, and noise mitigation.
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI, ESD mitigation, and regulatory testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded electronics hardware and firmware.
• Develop test plans and procedures for new electrical hardware subsystems.
• Communicate progress and risks up and down the organization; escalate issues as needed.
• Create Work Breakdown Structures and drive milestones to meet project goals.
• Lead and mentor a small engineering team; collaborate with engineers globally.
• Utilize lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition) for testing.
• Ensure designs meet UL, CEC, CE, and ANSI standards; lead in-house verification.
• Manage schedules to adhere to project timelines and company processes.

Sr Electrical EngineerJob Description:Sr. Electrical Engineers – NPD Lighting & Lifestyle551 N 5th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53203Job Duties• Lead the design, prototype, test, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics hardware and firmware for high complexity projects.• Lead the development of test plans/procedures and test cases for new product electrical hardware and subsystems development.• Provide candid and effective communications up, down, and across the organization on progress, barrier removal, and escalation of business risks/opportunities.• Demonstrate company culture of high performance and agility by independently creating Work Breakdown Structure for work and driving to critical milestones.• Drive urgency and accountability in project schedules to establish and achieve key project metrics that meet the organization’s needs.• Serve as a role model of the company’s culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior Engineers. Analog, digital, power electrical hardware tradeoffs and design relating to signal integrity, noise analysis, and margin considerations2. Power electronics circuit design and control, including power supply design and verification, output control stability, and electrical noise mitigation3. Battery safety systems, including inrush current spikes, circuit reliability, and discharging safety4. Electromagnetic Compliance (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)5.
