Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to manage multiple low to moderately complex engineering projects with minimal direction. You will provide project management and technical direction to ensure successful and timely implementation.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive milestones, and collaborate across local and global teams. A strong background in NPD, scheduling, and design reviews is essential, with travel up to 15% and a focus on cost, performance and schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years engineering experience in related field.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Proven success in mass-produced product design.
• Experience managing low to moderately complex new product development projects.
• Broad knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes; part costing.
• Good understanding of supplier, quality, and purchasing roles.
• Excellent problem identification and resolution skills.
• Results-driven with the ability to meet aggressive schedules.
• Ability to develop productive relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Travel 10-15%.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership over multiple design projects; guides team and reviews work.
• Develops schedules, facilitates meetings, and tracks progress; presents status.
• Manages projects within budget and scheduling guidelines.
• Coordinates planning for low to moderate complexity projects and identifies risks.
• Understands the NPD process from concept to launch and evaluates maturity.
• Frames tradeoff discussions with Marketing and cross-functional teams.
• Ensures clear communication with international teams and management.
• Escalates project developments or issues promptly.
• Identifies design/manufacturing hurdles and suggests improvements.
• Works with Operations, Quality and Suppliers to deliver conforming products.
• Motivates cross-functional teams toward objectives; focuses on cost, performance, schedule.
• Maintains collaboration and strong relationships with internal and external partners.
