Leonardo DRS is seeking a Principal Engineer-Commercial Nuclear to lead the design, development, and integration of digital and analog electronic systems for naval power applications. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in electronic system design and development.
• Experience with processor architectures (e.g., Motorola 68000/MC68360, PowerPC, TI DSP), digital logic (TTL/HC), FPGA toolchains (Xilinx ISE, Altera, Libero), and interfaces (PCI/PCIe, VME64x, ECC memory).
• Proficiency with design tools such as Cadence OrCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
• Strong product development experience with problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, troubleshoot and implement digital and analog systems incorporating A/D, D/A, microprocessors and microcontrollers.
• Provide obsolescence management for legacy analog systems, including selection of alternate/substitute components.
• Generate proposals for upgrades and new installations with technical descriptions and budget/schedule estimates.
• Provide schedule and technical compliance updates to management for complex design programs.
• Validate system performance using analysis, simulation, and laboratory testing.
• Generate complete system documentation and input to technical proposals for customers.
