Job summary

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer-Chillers in Plano, TX, a hybrid role leading electrical design for centrifugal chiller systems. You will translate U.S.

requirements into detailed design inputs and coordinate across U.S. and Japan teams to ensure compliant, timely proposals. The ideal candidate has 12+ years in electrical engineering with 7+ years leading large projects, deep knowledge of UL/NEC/IEEE, and hands‑on experience with power

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline.
• 12+ years of related experience with 7+ years leading electrical engineering scope across quotation, design execution, and change management for industrial or packaged equipment.
• Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems including power distribution, protection, control panels, VFDs, and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Translate U.S. electrical and safety compliance requirements (UL, NEC, IEEE) into quotation specs and detailed design.
• Lead electrical engineering activities from customer requirement intake through quotation and design.
• Coordinate electrical design execution with Japan-based MTH design teams to ensure alignment.
• Establish and maintain electrical interface specifications across subsystems and change control processes.
• Represent MHIA in FAT, SAT, and AHJ engagements and coordinate with customers and suppliers.
