Description

You will lead a team on challenging projects involving investigating, troubleshooting, and solving various electrical engineering issues to support single and multi-discipline projects.

The majority of projects require multi-discipline interface and coordination.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading efforts to ensure successful completion of electrical engineering project deliverables, meeting all technical, quality, financial, and project controls expectations.
  2. Initiating and conveying scope of work to team members.
  3. Defining deliverables such as calculations, specifications, drawings, and design changes.
  4. Reviewing progress and maintaining project scope and budget while keeping clients informed.
  5. Conducting routine status meetings and submitting progress reports.
  6. Tracking and resolving open items and project issues.
  7. Coordinating completion of project deliverables.
  8. Leading detailed design phases, including interface and coordination with other disciplines.
  9. Developing project scope, cost estimates, and schedules for electrical modifications, especially at nuclear power plants.
  10. Preparing proposals for complex electrical modifications.
  11. Providing technical oversight for activities like design change packages, engineering calculations, equipment procurement specifications, and bid evaluations.
  12. Interfacing with clients to validate scope and ensure satisfaction.
  13. Mentoring and guiding team development.
  14. Identifying client needs for strategic opportunities and developing follow-on work.
  15. Preparing and coordinating multi-discipline proposals.
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience include:

  • A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited program.
  • At least ten years’ experience in electrical systems design for power plants.
  • Over three years leading an engineering design team through all project phases.
  • Experience selecting equipment, materials, and preparing design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
  • Experience as a firm or client liaison in a support or leadership role.
  • Knowledge of electrical system design, including low and medium voltage distribution systems.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Detail-oriented work approach.
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear station.
  • PE licensure is preferred.
