Position Overview

We're seeking a full-time, staff Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team located in Greenville SC, Charlotte NC, or remotely. As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll lead electrical engineering efforts within EPC projects, overseeing deliverables, design criteria, specifications, proposals, scope, budget, and schedules for various projects. You will operate with minimal oversight, managing project execution, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and integrating electrical solutions into project workflows. Your responsibilities include technical leadership, design optimization, regulatory compliance, and team mentorship, with support to the Electrical Department Manager when needed.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering design activities across multiple EPC projects, ensuring compliance with standards and project criteria while optimizing for constructability and efficiency.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications for quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with project teams, including managers, procurement, vendors, and construction personnel, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Supervise engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Assist in departmental operations, resource management, and strategic planning.
Required Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial and power plant electrical design, including medium and low voltage systems, power distribution, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, and more.
  • Experience with project execution practices and full EPC project lifecycle.
  • Ability to oversee large-scale electrical design projects, ensuring compliance and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microstation, and electrical system modeling software such as SKM or ETAP.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and innovative thinking skills.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 12+ years of detailed engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Ability to pass background screening.
Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this role is $136,400 - $204,600, depending on experience and location. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, life insurance, paid leave, and voluntary benefits.
