Job summary

Progressive Companies is seeking an Electrical Engineering Designer III to lead electrical design on a portfolio of projects from site walks through construction. You will build power system models, run studies, write specifications, and guide the design through code and agency review.

You will review others’ work, mentor junior designers, lead work plans and meetings, coordinate across disciplines and with outside consultants, and manage construction administration to ensure field results match

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design on your assigned projects, concept through construction.
• Produce the contract documents, construction documents, and technical specifications in Revit and AutoCAD to the firm’s Performance Based Design standards.
• Own the power system analysis behind your designs. Run load flow, harmonic, and protective device coordination studies across building types.
• Write the work plan and schedule for each project, then hold the dates with permitting and agency review timeframes.
• Take medium-to-high complexity systems through code and agency review and close out client and governing agency comments.
• Coordinate projects across in-house disciplines and outside consultants; lead project team meetings and verify consultant work.
• Run construction administration on projects with RFIs, shop drawings, clarifications, and field visits to confirm design intent.
• Backstop quality before documents leave the office by reviewing calculations, specs, and junior staff drawings.
