Job summary

Progressive Companies in Detroit is seeking an Electrical Engineering Designer III to lead electrical design from site walks through construction. You will build power system models, run studies, write specifications, and guide junior designers, with opportunities to advance toward Senior Engineer or discipline lead roles.

You will collaborate with outside consultants, in-house disciplines, and project teams to ensure design quality, scheduling, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design on assigned projects from concept through construction.
• Produce contract documents, construction documents, and technical specifications in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Own the power system analysis behind designs: run load flow, harmonic, and protective device coordination studies.
• Coordinate with in-house disciplines and outside consultants; lead project team meetings and manage schedule.
• Review calculations, specifications, and junior staff drawings for quality and consistency.
• Perform construction administration activities: respond to RFIs, review submittals, and confirm field built conformance.
