Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) seeks a Supervising Electrical Designer to lead a design team on the Sentinel program at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, UT. The role focuses on producing NFPA 70 compliant facility designs, generating drawings in AutoCAD and SmartSketch, and maintaining a clash-free SmartPlant 3D model for grounding, lighting, raceway, and electrical layouts.

You will supervise up to 12 designers, ensure schedule adherence, and coordinate with multiple disciplines while mentoring

Qualifications

Associate Degree or Certificate in Engineering/CAD.
10+ years of experience leading a team of designers and performing technical reviews.
Experience on physical design of industrial and/or nuclear facilities.
Knowledge & application of NFPA 70 and related codes/standards.
Hands-on experience using Smartplant 3D, SmartSketch, and AutoCAD.
Strong knowledge of electrical raceway and equipment layouts.
Ability to resolve design issues independently and with other disciplines.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

Supervise junior and senior designers and manage a team of up to 10-12 designers.
Produce NFPA 70 code compliant facility designs for Sentinel program.
Create drawings in AutoCAD and SmartSketch and manage 3D model in SmartPlant 3D.
Ensure on-time delivery of design deliverables and manage project schedule.
Coordinate designs across engineering, construction, and client.
Mentor less experienced designers and provide training.
