Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Ogden, UT to design electrical systems for the DOD/USAF Sentinel program. You will prepare studies, drawings, calculations, and specifications, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative team setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 8–10 years of experience, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain/hold a security clearance. The contract spans 12 months with a $96/hour pay rate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• US citizenship is required.
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one is required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Experience with electrical design, calculations, and system analysis per project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical system designs for the Sentinel program, including studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multiple disciplines in a team environment.
• Create new design drawings using AutoCAD (single lines, schematics, panel schedules, grounding, etc.).
• Perform power system analysis with ETAP (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor starting, Relay Coordination, Arc Flash).
• Size equipment (transformers, panels, UPS, batteries) and perform NFPA 70 de-rating assessments.
• Develop equipment and material specifications (SpecsIntact) and procurement documentation.
• Review vendor submittals and integrate information into the design.
• Coordinate requirements with Systems Engineering and the client.
