Job summary

The Foth Companies is seeking a Lead Electrical and Controls Engineer to drive hardware and software design for industrial projects, leading teams across design, fabrication, and commissioning. This role supports Rockwell-based PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems, with opportunities for remote work and frequent client interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of engineering/design experience in manufacturing environments, with troubleshooting complex projects.
• Experience with industrial automation and controls systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical hardware and software design leadership for industrial projects.
• Develop design packages for bid and construction.
• Coordinate and execute design and programming of PLC/DCS, HMI, VFD and Servo Motion projects from hardware design and software integration through construction start-up.
• Coordinate electrical engineering and lead design/CAD resources.
• Provide hardware and software design for machine design projects in consumer products and general industrial markets.
• Develop design packages and assist in the development of documentation including schedules and cost estimates.
• Produce high quality project deliverables in a collaborative team environment.
• Travel to client sites and Foth office locations as needed (approximately 35% annually).
