Job summary

Pearson is seeking a senior editorial professional to lead copyediting and quality control for assessment content. You will coordinate with Content, Program Teams, and other departments, ensuring timely delivery and strict adherence to client style guidelines.

The role emphasizes editorial judgment, training, and collaboration across Editorial, Asset Services, Content, CDS, and Pearson, with a strong focus on publishing workflows and risk awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent certification/on-the-job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ experience in educational assessment.
• Strong end-to-end copyediting proficiency across spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, diction, and usage.
• Interprets major style guides confidently (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, Gregg Reference Manual, Garner’s Modern English Usage) and applies industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per department, client, and industry standards.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components and identifies errors throughout the workday.
• Follows client style guidelines and may modify client style guidelines when appropriate.
• Understands the copyeditor’s scope of responsibility and flags concerns when needed.
• Proactively seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise.
• Leads editorial efforts when assigned and coordinates with Content and Program Teams.
