Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced editor with a strong background in editorial quality, assessment alignment, and client-style application. The role emphasizes cross‑team collaboration, training, and leadership in editorial projects.

You will work with Pearson platforms and publishing workflows, applying universal design and accessibility standards while mentoring colleagues and ensuring quality across content. The position is based in Olympia, WA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification/training.
• Minimum editorial experience and educational assessment experience.
• Strong copyediting proficiency in spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.
• Familiar with major style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, Gregg Reference Manual, Garner’s).

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, and style per standards.
• Ensures uniformity across assessment components and minimizes errors.
• Applies client style guidelines; may modify guidelines for best outcomes.
• Understands scope of copyeditor responsibilities and flags concerns when needed.
• Proactively learns to strengthen editorial expertise and style knowledge.
