Job summary

Lead Teacher at Akin in Seattle plans and implements developmentally appropriate programming, creating a nurturing, inclusive classroom aligned with Head Start and ECEAP standards. You will work with a collaborative team to engage families and support each child’s learning and well-being.

Responsibilities include planning daily routines, conferencing with families, maintaining records, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• AA degree required; pursuing full qualifications as needed.
• Proof of physical exam within past 12 months.
• TB test, MMR vaccination, and background check incl. fingerprinting.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom operations and support teaching development.
• Plan daily routines and implement Head Start/ECEAP-aligned lesson plans.
• Engage families, encourage participation in education programs.
• Prepare and organize classroom materials and curriculum.
• Conduct four annual parent-teacher conferences and two home visits.
• Ensure safety, health guidelines, and adherence to policies.
