Job summary

Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation seeks an Early Childhood Teacher to create a stimulating, safe learning environment aligned with Archdiocese standards for PreK-3 students. The teacher will lead curriculum planning, supervise aides, and collaborate with the Early Learning Center Director.

The role emphasizes development across cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical domains, with strong communication with parents and a faith-based approach to daily activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Certification in early childhood education is preferred.
• General knowledge of the Catholic Church, Catholic sacraments, rites, and liturgies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, and School Information Systems.
• Obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Up-to-date immunizations and physician’s statement.
• Completion of Archdiocese Safe Environment Program.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum Planning & Implementation: Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with standards.
• Child Centered Learning: Engage children with activities matching their development.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment and supervise safety protocols.
• Staff Supervision & Guidance: Lead and train staff, interns, and volunteers in the classroom.
• Positive Child Interactions: Interact with children in a warm, calm, and supportive manner.
• Parental & Peer Communication: Communicate with parents and collaborate with staff.
• Confidentiality & Reporting: Maintain confidentiality and prepare assessments and daily reports.
• Health & Safety: Ensure health, nutrition and safety, keeping certifications up-to-date.
• Christian Witness: Model Catholic values and faith-based practices in daily activities.
• Miscellaneous Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.
