Job summary

Hargrove EPC in California seeks an experienced Outage Planner/Estimator to lead planning and scheduling for heavy industrial projects, focusing on cost control, work package creation, and coordination with field teams for safe, compliant execution.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in Electrical & Instrumentation planning, a relevant degree, PMI/AACE credentials, and willingness to travel up to 25-35% with on-site outage duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor or Master of Science in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
• AACE International or PMI certification is preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and planning skills.
• Understands electrical and instrumentation construction and workflow processes.
• Some bending, climbing, crawling, lifting and shift work will be required.
• Ability to read and interpret Electrical & Instrumentation drawings and P&IDs.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing test/work packages for issuance to the field.
• 10+ years’ experience in Electrical & Instrumentation package planning and/or 10+ years of E&I journey-level maintenance experience.
• Proficient in SAP, Primavera P6, and Adobe; MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned portion of outage scope through planning and execution stage.
• Organize materials through expediting, quoting prices, and ensuring correct parts are available for jobs.
• Develop scope for assigned work orders within the outage, identifying required disciplines.
• Create detailed job packages in Cleopatra for each work order with tasks, manpower, durations, and discipline.
• Provide daily schedule updates during outage execution.
• Create planning packages for internal and external distribution (bids, contractor field personnel).
• Support risk management, contractor safety, and mitigating safety issues.
• Assist Management of Change processes and follow through on documentation.
• Maintain communication with craftspeople, contractor reps, and material suppliers.
• Uphold housekeeping standards and conduct inspections at job sites.
• Complete close out and documentation per standards.
• Willing to travel 25-35% depending on projects.
• Work on-site during outage execution and follow QA/QC processes.
• Promote teamwork and remain composed in demanding situations.
• Demonstrate and perform efficiently across the job scope.
• Achieve State/Federal certifications (OSHA, TWIC).
