Job summary

Resources for Human Development (RHD) is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional to mentor DSPs and coordinate daily residential operations. You will ensure quality services, program compliance, and a safe, person-centered environment that promotes independence and community inclusion.

You will provide direct care, support activities of daily living, and help individuals build budgeting, communication, and social skills while promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum of three (3) years of Direct Support Professional experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs.
• Ability to complete state and federal criminal background checks.
• Ability to pass required drug screenings.
• Ability to complete pre-employment physical and PPD testing.
• Willingness to complete all required orientation and training programs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Group Home Managers to ensure high-quality services and compliance with program standards.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Direct Support Professionals.
• Support daily residential operations while promoting a safe, healthy, and person-centered environment.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including cooking, housekeeping, personal hygiene, and independent living skills.
• Support health, wellness, and personal care needs while encouraging healthy lifestyle choices.
• Facilitate community integration through recreational activities, shopping, social engagement, and community participation.
• Assist individuals in developing budgeting, money management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Communicate effectively with guardians, healthcare providers, and community agencies.
• Advocate for individuals' rights, dignity, independence, and personal choice.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
