Morning Shift - Lead Supervisor
Position Summary
The Shift Lead position supports the day-to-day operations for the MSMU’s Shuttle Program and ensures overall service is being delivered in compliance within Company and Client’s expectations and is responsible for overseeing daily operational activities within a designated shift at a transportation site. This position ensures that transportation workflows, safety protocols, and service commitments are consistently executed to meet operational goals. The Shift Lead acts as the primary point of contact for frontline employees and collaborates with leadership to resolve issues, improve productivity, and maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Confirm drivers have reported to their shift.
- Confirm drivers have their current credentials in their possession.
- Posts Staffing schedules every Friday for the following week. Schedules should also include assigned drivers for Transportation Requests.
- Send calendar invites to the DTPS personnel when employees have approved time off.
- Report missed or canceled services via email to DTPS personnel immediately.
- Confirm all vehicles are fueled.
- Monitor drivers with fueling responsibilities to ensure follow-through.
- Monitor drivers to ensure they are:
- Following proper routes.
- Meeting scheduled pick-up times.
- Staying on schedule.
- Gather and relay driver feedback regarding route scheduling, for example: Suggest schedule adjustments if a driver is consistently late to a stop.
- Provide clear communications, directions, and follow-up to all employees on a regular basis.
- Work closely with Site Manager to ensure the operation is within compliance of the standard operating policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
- Cover shifts as needed.
- Report any driver complaints or incidents immediately to the DTPS personnel.
- Report driver safety and defensive driving when risky behaviors are identified to Propark’s safety personnel.
- Maintains Missed Service Log, Utilization Report, and other required reports.
- Ensure Vehicle Pre-Trip Inspections are filled out properly by operator.
- Ensures all data entry and reports are kept updated daily. These reports are the Daily Utilization Report, Missed Service Log, Supplies Inventory Log, among others.
- Ensures Vehicles are clean, have acceptable fuel and fluid levels.
- Follow client’s vehicle maintenance protocol.
- Other duties expected or as assigned.
Talent Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Punctual in attendance.
- Must be proficient in Word and Excel.
- Ability to be an outside the box
- Minimum three years of experience in transportation, logistics, or related industry.
- At least one year of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make decisions quickly while maintaining high safety and service quality standards.
