Job summary

S&ME Inc. is seeking a full-time Driller to join our Field Exploration team in Knoxville, TN. The role involves mobile drilling operations, supervising drillers, and ensuring safe, high-quality field work outdoors year-round.

You will mobilize equipment, manage materials, and maintain testing gear while traveling and staying within project guidelines. Strong English communication and 3+ years in geotechnical drilling are expected, with an ESOP-informed, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years of geotechnical and/or environmental drilling experience.
• Valid CDL and a driller license are required.
• Able to operate and maintain field drilling equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee drilling operations for assigned projects and supervise lower-level drillers.
• Review field logs, samples, and data; communicate with management and staff.
• Manage vehicle and equipment maintenance to ensure good working condition.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications and documents.
• Coordinate daily activities of driller assistants and report progress.
