Job summary

Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc. seeks a Lead Direct Support Professional to guide non-supervisory staff on shift, ensure medication administration, and manage tasks like documentation and incident reporting. The role requires strong reliability, teamwork, and adherence to state rules.

The Lead DSP provides on-shift leadership, monitors supplies, and helps residents with daily schedules, activities, and transport tasks while maintaining compliance with agency policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and DSP training; TABE test.
• 1–2 years DSP/CNA/Caregiver experience.
• Must have Illinois driver’s license and be able to administer medications.
• Pass agency background checks as required by state mandates.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office or similar applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vehicle usage, condition, fuel, and mileage; prepare reports for the home manager.
• Ensure timeliness of daily progress reports, logs, and MAR sheets.
• Administer 4 PM and 8 PM medications per Rule 116.
• Complete weekly MAR reviews and report to home manager.
• Assist with weekly food purchases for the home.
• Aid residents in preparing daily schedules and activities.
• Complete all incident reports on shift.
• Record water temperatures of faucets.
• Call on-call personnel as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe living environments.
