Job summary

KenCrest seeks a Direct Support Professional – Lead DSP (LDSP) to serve as the point person at the community home for care and documentation expertise. The role leads by example and supports the Program Manager to keep the home running smoothly and efficiently.

The LDSP will mentor DSP staff, oversee daily household tasks, meal prep, and personal care, and ensure adherence to ISPs and safety protocols while coordinating with medical personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of direct care experience in the IDD or health-related field.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Clear criminal record, background checks, and drug test as per state requirements.
• Ability to pass CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration training.
• Ability to convey, understand, and follow spoken and written English.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead DSP staff on shift and act as liaison with the Program Manager.
• Provide care and mentoring to individuals following ISP and protocols.
• Assist with paperwork, scheduling, house maintenance, vehicle maintenance, client funds, and appointments.
• Administer medications according to policies and procedures.
• Transport individuals to appointments and activities and adhere to vehicle policies.
