Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a Cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The cook will follow prepared menus, supervise basic tasks, and assist with meals for residents in a hospital or long-term care setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of cooking experience in a healthcare facility. Applicants must obtain and maintain ServSafe certification and work collaboratively with staff to ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for not less than one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities following prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Record food temperatures and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Supervise and train dietary staff in absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and assist with serving meals.
