Penske Truck Leasing in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll work with modern equipment, logging diagnostics and learning advanced maintenance processes while offering dependable service and safety for customers.

The role emphasizes leadership from an experienced technician, hands-on training, and opportunities for growth within a stable, well‑equipped shop environment.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision and in a timely manner.
• Repair and troubleshoot major components such as engines, transmissions and differentials.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs including basic diagnostics.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
