Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Suffolk, VA is seeking an experienced Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a broad fleet. You will diagnose, repair, and log work while upholding safety standards and quality.

You will lead by example, work independently, and participate in Penske’s advanced maintenance programs and training to grow your career within a top logistics brand.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis and troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) and ASE/608/609 certifications preferred
• Experienced using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools)

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
• Doing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision
• Repairing and troubleshooting major components such as engines, transmissions and differentials
• Keeping your work area clean and safe
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
• Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
