Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Fleet Technician I at SHIPPENSBURG USX TERMINAL to perform basic maintenance on tractors and trailers. The role runs Mon-Fri, with hours aligned to the shift provided by the terminal, focusing on timely preventive maintenance and safety-critical inspections.

Expect to work with standard shop tools, comply with DOT requirements, and contribute to a safety-first, efficient fleet. Benefits include competitive pay and comprehensive healthcare options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.
• Technical Diploma may substitute for 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers as outlined in PM guidelines.
• Inspect brakes, tires, wiring, and other components for wear or failure.
• Check vehicle fluids (transmission oil, coolant, wiper fluid, etc.).
• Change vehicle tires and grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain high productivity and complete most jobs within SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
