Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking an experienced Technician I in North Liberty, IA to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet. You will diagnose, repair, and service trucks and trailers, staying on schedule and upholding Penske’s safety standards.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); ASE Certification and 608/609 preferred.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, and hand/power tools.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; able to work well in a team.
• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions with adherence to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Performing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little supervision.
• Repairing and troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) including replacing assemblies.
• Keeping work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
