Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in North Liberty, IA is seeking an experienced Technician I to maintain and repair trucks and trailers, perform preventive maintenance, and diagnose issues on a diverse fleet.

As a lead-level technician, you will mentor others, work with Penske tools, and pursue ongoing training while ensuring safety and reliability. The role offers steady hours, competitive pay of $32.25 per hour, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Experience with all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools).
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining vehicles to ensure safety for customers.
• Performing preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
• Repairing and troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials).
• Keeping work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske’s tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Learning new skills through Penske technician training.
• Working on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
