Job summary

FleetPride is seeking an experienced Technician III to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. The role includes training and developing other technicians, performing advanced diagnostics, and ensuring high-quality service for customers.

The Technician III will handle major adjustments, component replacements, and a range of system repairs, from braking and suspension to engines and electrical, in a non-climate controlled shop environment.

Qualifications

• Must provide hand tools and toolbox; focus on safety and quality workmanship.
• Experience training other technicians and performing diagnostics.
• Strong service orientation and ability to work with customers.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunction(s)
• Train new service shop employees on company procedures regarding vehicle repairs
• Inspect orders for completion and quality before presentation or delivery to customers
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrications and filter replacements
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric)
• Test drive vehicles and components using proper equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical/exhaust/AC systems
• Adjust, remove and replace clutches and drivelines
• Overhaul engines and fuel systems
• Inspect and repair trailers, hitches, axles
• Perform tandem alignment and king pin repairs
• Weld basic aluminum and steel
• Review service story and plan tasks
• Finish surfaces with grinding and sanding
• Access vehicle bodies and interiors for repairs
• Train new employees on procedures
• Maintain a clean workspace
