Job summary

Patriot Disposal is seeking a motivated Mechanic:Maint to lead from the front and keep our diesel fleet running smoothly. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair front-load, rear-load and roll-off trucks to maximize uptime and safety.

As a hands-on leader, you’ll mentor teammates, document service activity, and uphold safety standards while coordinating with supervisors to prioritize repairs across our growing fleet. CDL is a plus; HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in diesel mechanics preferred.
• CDL is a plus.
• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brakes.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle maintenance: diagnose, maintain and repair diesel-powered waste management trucks and heavy equipment (rear-load, front-load, roll-off).
• Preventive care: routine inspections including engine checks, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire replacements.
• Repairs and replacements: troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and replace worn parts (brakes, engines, hydraulics, transmissions, air systems).
• Safety compliance: adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company protocols.
• Documentation: record maintenance activities, parts used, hours worked, and services performed.
• Team collaboration: work with other mechanics and supervisors to prioritize repairs and manage fleet maintenance.
