Job summary

Global Environmental and Industrial Response LLC in Bartow, FL is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic to keep our fleet ready for client work. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel vehicles (including vacuum trucks) and mentor junior mechanics to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Ideal candidates own their tools, have a CDL (preferred), maintain a clean driving record, and can operate manual transmissions.

Qualifications

Prior experience as a Diesel Mechanic is required.
Diagnostics experience is a must.
Must have your own tools.
Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred).
Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is required.
Clean driving record for the past 3 years.
Must pass a background check and drug test.
Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel vehicles (including vacuum trucks and other equipment).
Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions related to engines, transmissions, clutches, suspension, steering, and more.
Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components.
Oversee and mentor other team members, provide technical guidance, and assist with scheduling and workflow management.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes.
Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation.
Test-drive vehicles.
Accurately document issues found and repair steps taken.
Ensure all work meets safety and company standards.
