Job summary

City-of-Goldsboro is recruiting for a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead the city’s diesel-powered heavy equipment fleet maintenance. The role supervises technicians, plans and performs preventive maintenance, ensures safety compliance, and contributes to budget planning and reporting.

The candidate will oversee work orders, provide technical guidance, and monitor performance to ensure timely, quality repairs and accurate records following OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires extensive knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strong supervisory skills and ability to train and discipline staff.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA compliance.
• Experience in budgeting, reporting and long-range planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repair of the city’s diesel-powered heavy equipment fleet.
• Plan, assign, monitor and participate in maintenance work and preventative programs.
• Supervise staff, conduct training, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.
• Assist in developing fleet services budget and maintain maintenance reports.
