Job summary

City of Goldsboro is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead the City’s Fleet Maintenance Garage. You will organize and supervise staff providing mechanical services for gas and diesel fleets, oversee fueling operations, and manage budgets and safety programs.

The role requires advanced troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in fleet readiness and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 10 years repairing automotive/heavy equipment.
• Minimum 7 years supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Fleet Maintenance Garage operations and staffing.
• Develop and manage the fleet maintenance budget; monitor expenditures.
• Supervise major repair, overhaul and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA, and UST standards are followed; lead safety training.
• Oversee fuel island operations and inventory; manage fuel purchases.
