Job summary

The City of Goldsboro is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead the diesel-powered heavy equipment team. You will plan, assign, monitor, and participate in preventive maintenance and repairs while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will supervise staff, coordinate budget planning, maintain records, and provide technical guidance. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems and OSHA standards is required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Seven (7) years of experience repairing Diesel-powered heavy equipment.
Computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance and repair of the City’s diesel-powered heavy equipment fleet.
Plan, assign, monitor and participate in maintenance programs.
Supervise and develop staff; conduct performance appraisals.
Assist in fleet services budget development and reporting.
Coordinate scheduling and training; provide technical advice.
Record keeping of work orders and parts usage.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and City safety procedures.
Respond to customer requests and resolve issues.
