Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Conway, SC is seeking a seasoned technician to diagnose and repair diesel and CNG powered trucks, ensuring a road-ready fleet through proactive maintenance.

You will mentor level B and C mechanics, review mechanical write-ups, schedule repairs, perform DOT and brake inspections, and maintain safety and compliance while improving efficiency and accuracy of service orders.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related regulations.
• ASE Certifications preferred.
• Ability to interpret schematics and manuals.
• Experience with diagnostic software and computer systems.
• CDL (Class A or B) preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• 5+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel and CNG powered trucks, including engines and fuel systems.
• Lead inspections of brakes, engine components, emissions, steering and bearings.
• Mentor level B and C mechanics.
• Prioritize repairs to maximize efficiency and timely completion.
• Oversee repair schedules and review mechanical write-ups.
• Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
• Complete reports, work orders, and administrative duties daily.
• Ensure safe working conditions and regulatory compliance.
• Interpret electrical and diagnostic schematics; participate in training.
• Maintain a clean work area.
