Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Lead DevSecOps Engineer to drive the unclassified engineering environment for a large-scale software modernization program. You will define and lead the DevSecOps strategy across multiple teams, accelerating modernization and standardization while ensuring security and reliability.

You will collaborate with the Lead Systems Engineer and Solutions Architect, mentoring engineers across the program and championing automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, software engineering, or systems engineering.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Experience leading DevOps/DevSecOps implementations for complex software portfolios or large programs.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain required clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead Unclassified Environment Implementation: Architect, implement, and evolve GDIT's unclassified DevSecOps environment.
• Strategic DevSecOps Vision & Roadmapping: Create a unified strategy and roadmaps for tools and practices.
• Code Assessment & Modernization: Define a framework to evaluate legacy apps and modernization paths.
• DevSecOps CI/CD & Data Pipelines: Design and optimize pipelines; embed security controls.
• Standardization & Tooling: Evaluate new technologies and standardize toolchains across teams.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Mentor engineers; evangelize automation-first culture.
• Security, Compliance & Reliability: Ensure IC-security standards and observability patterns.
