Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Lead DevSecOps Engineer to drive the implementation of an unclassified environment for a large-scale software modernization program. You will define and lead DevSecOps strategy, align roadmaps, and embed security into CI/CD pipelines while guiding multi-disciplinary teams across architecture, development, and security.

The role requires 8+ years in DevOps/DevSecOps, strong experience with CI/CD tooling, data pipelines, and IaC. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in DevOps/DevSecOps, software engineering, or systems engineering.
• Led DevSecOps implementations for large programs or portfolios.
• Hands-on CI/CD design using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
• Experience with data pipelines using Kafka, NiFi, Airflow, Spark, or cloud-native services.
• Experience with containerization/orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
• Strong secure software development background with CI/CD security integration.
• Experience with IC or other high-security environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with architects and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the unclassified DevSecOps environment implementation and evolution.
• Define a unified DevSecOps strategy and roadmaps across the program.
• Develop code assessment frameworks for legacy and modern applications.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines and data pipelines for secure delivery.
• Standardize toolchains and templates across teams for reliable deployment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and observability across the delivery pipeline.
