Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a DevOps Tech Lead to support a government technology client. The role is fully remote and targets a seasoned platform engineer with Kubernetes, Argo CD, deployment automation, and scalable self-service platforms for teams in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, distributed systems, or cloud operations.
• Hands-on Kubernetes, container orchestration, and large-scale deployment platforms.
• Strong experience with Argo CD, GitOps workflows, and CI/CD automation.
• Object-oriented programming experience (Java, C#, Python, Go) prior to DevOps/Platform Engineering roles.
• Experience with FedRAMP High, IL5, or other highly regulated cloud environments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision for Platform Services supporting FedRAMP High and IL5 environments.
• Architect and maintain Kubernetes-based deployment systems utilizing Argo CD and GitOps methodologies.
• Develop and standardize golden paths enabling engineers to deploy, operate, and scale on the platform.
• Lead platform engineering initiatives focused on reliability, automation, observability, and operational excellence.
• Partner with software engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and compliant cloud-native deployments.
