Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Design Release Engineer for Safety Restraint Systems to lead seat belt design, development, and release across vehicle programs. You will collaborate with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and supply base to meet FMVSS, ECE, and global certifications while achieving cost, weight and investment targets.

You will review testing, parts, data and best practices to ensure milestones and deliverables are met. Strong leadership and program-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of automotive engineering experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering with seat belt design, development or validation.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Good communication, problem solving, computer and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review design practices to meet program requirements.
• Conduct commodity benchmarking as required.
• Manage program documentation (e.g., DVPR, DFMEA).
• Manage supplier design and open issues reviews.
• Write change notices.
• Review supplier component and system testing, test parts, and test results.
• Manage and complete compliance testing and reports.
• Support pre-production, production launch, and serial life builds.
• Support continuous improvement activity.
