Job summary

Hinduja Tech Limited in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Restraint Design & Release Engineer to drive design, development and release of restraint components including steering wheels, seat belts and airbags for vehicle programs.

You will work with suppliers and cross-functional teams to create, update and manage documentation (DVPR, DFMEA) and ensure compliance with FMVSS and global standards throughout the program lifecycle from pre-production to serial life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Entry-level candidates and those with up to 2 years of relevant automotive internship or co-op experience will be considered.
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and release restraint components and systems (steering wheel, seat belts, airbags).
• Write change notices and compliance reports; manage DVPR/DFMEA documentation to meet program timing.
• Track issues in development and serial life, root-cause and drive to resolution.
• Support plants for issues during pre-production, production launch and serial life builds.
• Interface with purchasing, design office, manufacturing and suppliers to achieve objectives.
