Job summary

Stellantis NV in Auburn, Alabama is seeking a Safety Restraint Systems – Design Release Engineer (DRE) to lead the design, development and release of seat belts for our vehicle programs. You will partner with engineering teams and suppliers to ensure FMVSS, ECE and global certifications are met while achieving program milestones, cost, weight and investment targets.

You will review testing, parts data and best practices, manage documentation like DFMEA and DVPR, coordinate supplier design

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of automotive engineering experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience with seat belt design, development and/or validation.
• Highly motivated and driven to achieve goals.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Good communication, problem solving, computer and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing design practices to meet program requirements.
• Conducting commodity benchmarking as required.
• Managing program specific documentation (e.g., DVPR, DFMEA).
• Managing supplier design and open issues reviews.
• Writing change notices.
• Reviewing supplier component and system testing, test parts, and test results.
• Managing and completing compliance testing and reports.
• Support pre-production, production launch, and serial life builds.
• Support continuous improvement activity.
