Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a skilled on-site technician in Dallas, TX to lead project crews and manage fiber cable installations. The role emphasizes safety, quality adherence, and strong coordination with project managers to hit timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities include leading a crew of five, handling fiber terminations, testing, and on-site customer communication, with a contract-to-hire arrangement and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Leads major project crews and ensures safety and quality guidelines are followed.
• Proven fiber handling and termination skills for voice/data installations.
• Performs testing and validates cable integrity and performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure productivity and budget adherence.
• Complete all paperwork on time (timesheets, work orders, transfers).
• Perform quality checks and prepare red-lined as-built drawings.
• Act as main on-site contact for customers and attend meetings as required.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions.
• Perform additional assigned duties as needed.

Job Description

Consistently run major project crews; assume responsibility for effective performance and provide necessary training; assume responsibility for adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines and hold weekly safety meetings; initiate performance-related communications and elevate to Project Manager if necessary.

1. Coordinates with Project Manager/Project Lead to ensure productivity, job completion and compliance with project budget.
2. Fully completes all internal and project paperwork accurately and on time (specifically timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
3. Perform quality checks; coordinate moves and cut sheets for voice and data cross connects; prepare red-lined as-built drawings.
4. Serves as main on-site customer contact for questions and/or concerns; attend facility and constructions meetings when required.
5. Performs work consistently demonstrating a detailed level of technical knowledge; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
6. Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
