Job summary

Jobtailor in Ashburn, VA is seeking a data analytics professional to design and deploy advanced analytics and ML solutions using Databricks Genie, building semantic models and governance processes for accurate Genie responses.

You will develop notebooks, workflows, dashboards, and data pipelines, collaborating with data engineers to ensure governed, high-quality datasets for Genie and AI applications, while supporting RAG/LLM use cases in a mission-driven setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT and 3+ years in information technology.
• 3+ years in data science, ML, analytics, or AI/ML engineering.
• 2+ years hands-on Databricks experience.
• Experience configuring and administering Databricks Genie.
• Strong Python, SQL, and PySpark skills.
• Experience with structured and unstructured datasets.
• Data governance, data quality, and metadata management knowledge.
• Cloud platforms experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Ability to communicate complex analytics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Databricks certification preferred; federal agency experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced analytics and ML solutions using Databricks.
• Configure and optimize Databricks Genie spaces for natural language data access.
• Develop semantic models and metadata to improve Genie responses.
• Develop and maintain notebooks, workflows, dashboards, and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure governed datasets for Genie and AI apps.
• Support RAG, LLM, and AI-agent use cases leveraging Databricks.
• Participate in a mission-focused delivery team combining development and analytics.
• Help drive innovation to address agency mission concerns.
