Job summary

Dev Technology Group is hiring a Data Scientist in Ashburn, VA, hybrid, to build AI-powered analytics on the Databricks platform. You will craft semantic data models, govern metadata, and enable natural language querying while accelerating decision-making across agency-mocused initiatives.

The role requires 3+ years in data science/AI and hands-on Databricks experience, plus strong Python/SQL skills and cloud platform familiarity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of IT experience.
3+ years in data science, ML, analytics, or AI/ML engineering.
2+ years hands-on with Databricks.
Experience configuring Databricks Genie.
Strong Python, SQL, PySpark.
Experience developing semantic models and metadata structures.
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy analytics and ML solutions using Databricks.
Configure and optimize Databricks Genie spaces for natural language access to data.
Develop semantic models, business metadata, and governance processes for Genie responses.
Develop and maintain notebooks, workflows, dashboards, and data pipelines in Databricks.
Collaborate with data engineers to ensure governed datasets for Genie and AI apps.
Support retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), LLM, and AI-agent use cases leveraging Databricks capabilities.
