Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Data Privacy Engineer to shape enterprise privacy engineering and data protection strategies across data environments. You will lead PETs deployment, privacy risk assessments, and governance improvements to safeguard PHI and PII while enabling secure data use.

The role requires 7+ years in privacy/security disciplines, cloud-native experience, and cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Product.

Qualifications

• 7+ years advancing Privacy Engineering, Security Engineering, Data Protection, or related technical disciplines, including GDPR/CCPA/HIPAA compliance.
• 5+ years designing and deploying enterprise-scale data protection capabilities (encryption, tokenization, key management, DLP).
• Strong software foundation with 5+ years in Python/Java/Go or similar languages.
• 5+ years in cloud-native and DevSecOps environments (CI/CD, IaC, security automation).
• 3+ years leading cross-functional privacy, data protection, or compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and implementation of enterprise data protection and privacy engineering across structured and unstructured data.
• Design, deploy, and optimize PETs like encryption, tokenization, anonymization, and DLP.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, legal, compliance, and cybersecurity to embed privacy-by-design.
• Conduct privacy risk assessments, impact assessments, threat modeling, and control evaluations.
• Drive governance metrics, automation, and governance controls to strengthen privacy posture.
