Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Data Privacy Engineer to drive enterprise privacy engineering and scalable data protection across structured and unstructured data. You will lead initiatives in data discovery, classification, encryption, tokenization, anonymization, DLP, and privacy-by-design practices.

You will partner with Cybersecurity, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance teams to translate regulatory requirements into scalable architectures and governance controls, shaping the future of privacy

Qualifications

• 7+ years advancing Privacy Engineering, Security Engineering, Data Protection, Cybersecurity, or related technical disciplines with regulatory alignment.
• 5+ years designing and deploying enterprise-scale data protection capabilities including encryption, tokenization, and data classification.
• Strong software engineering foundation with 5+ years in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages.
• 5+ years in cloud-native and DevSecOps environments with CI/CD and IaC.
• 3+ years leading cross-functional privacy, data protection, or compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and implementation of enterprise data protection and privacy engineering across data environments.
• Design, deploy, and optimize Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) and DLP solutions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to embed privacy-by-design into architectures and governance.
• Conduct privacy risk assessments, threat modeling, and control evaluations for audits and regulatory obligations.
• Drive governance, metrics, and automation to strengthen privacy posture and data protection effectiveness.
