Job summary

JPMorganChase in Houston seeks a Lead Software Engineer to join the Corporate Technology - Data protection and Recovery product line. You will be a core technical contributor driving secure, scalable solutions across multiple business areas in an agile environment.

Responsibilities include delivering data platform solutions, enabling AI-assisted coding practices, and ensuring robust security and resiliency throughout the SDLC. Collaboration with vendors and teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools with ability to validate AI outputs for correctness, performance and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure data handling.
• Strong Python programming skills including unit and integration testing.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL-based transformation tooling.
• Experience designing and operating orchestration pipelines with Airflow.
• Experience designing and building streaming pipelines with Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar messaging systems.
• Experience across the data lifecycle.
• Proven track record delivering in an agile, fast-paced engineering environment.
• Advanced understanding of CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions and technical troubleshooting to solve complex problems.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and reliability.
• Applies SDLC tools and automation capabilities to enhance value realization.
• Identifies opportunities to automate recurring remediation for stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architectural designs and applicability.
• Generates data models using firmwide tooling and analytics techniques.
• Delivers data platform solutions with secure access and scalable storage.
• Evaluates access control processes to ensure data asset security.
• Creates reports in JIRA, Confluence to improve workflow visibility.
