Job summary

JPMorganChase, within the Corporate Data and Analytics Services team, seeks a Lead Software Engineer to advance our data strategy through enterprise Java services and modern data platforms. You will contribute to the Corporate Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Entitlements, and Data Quality frameworks.

Lead teams, drive AI-assisted development practices, and mentor engineers while ensuring secure, scalable delivery across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Proven experience building enterprise Java services – Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs and microservices at scale.
• Strong data foundations: SQL and NoSQL (Oracle, MongoDB), Kafka, Elasticsearch/Gemfire.
• Databricks or Snowflake, and data mesh / data product patterns.
• Ownership of test automation and CI/CD (JUnit, Mockito, Jenkins, Spinnaker).
• Technical leadership in Agile teams with mentoring responsibilities.
• Experience with approved AI-assisted software development tools and safe AI adoption.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions and designs, tackling complex problems.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews peers' work.
• Drives AI-assisted engineering practices for quality, speed, and reliability.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value.
• Identifies recurring issues and drives remediation for stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and teams on architecture fit.
