Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to architect and drive end-to-end data pipelines and interactive dashboards using DBT, Snowflake, Claude.AI, and BI tools. You will work with senior stakeholders to define reporting needs and deliver high-impact insights, while advancing AI integrations across reporting platforms.

You will mentor teammates, uphold governance standards, and present findings to executive leadership, shaping data-driven decisions across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering/CS/Data Science or related field; Master’s degree is a strong plus.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in data engineering or a similar role with a track record leading complex reporting and dashboard projects.
• Expert proficiency in DBT, SQL, Alteryx, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, Python (data analysis & scripting), Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operationalizing AI solutions and machine learning algorithms.
• Strong data analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into strategic insights.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills for executive audiences.
• Ability to lead initiatives autonomously, mentor colleagues, and collaborate in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, development, and maintenance of complex data pipelines and dashboards using DBT, SQL, Python, Claude.AI, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Champion AI and ML techniques to innovate reporting solutions and provide predictive insights.
• Analyze large datasets to uncover trends and inform strategic decisions.
• Set data governance and quality best practices across reporting solutions and mentor others.
• Present complex findings and recommendations to executives with compelling reports.
• Lead data projects from conception to deployment aligned with business goals.
