Job summary

Hearst Technology Services seeks a Senior Data Engineer to own data projects end-to-end, designing pipelines and APIs, and governing data across cloud platforms. You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, and data scientists to deliver scalable, secure data solutions and leverage generative AI to accelerate development.

Expect leadership in complex systems, containerized deployments, and strict adherence to data security standards (PHI/PII/PCI) with hands-on experience across Snowflake,

Qualifications

• 7+ years building production data pipelines with Python and diverse databases.
• Experience with generative AI in data engineering workflows.
• Cloud data solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• ETL design, data modeling, and modular component building.
• Containerization experience (Docker/Kubernetes) and DevSecOps practices.
• Data governance, security, and quality standards, including PHI/PII/PCI.
• Informatica IDMC/MDM or similar data integration tooling.
• Strong data structures, algorithms, and software architecture understanding.
• Ability to translate requirements with analysts and data scientists.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, secure pipelines for large data volumes.
• Develop APIs and DB logic for data transformation and storage.
• Leverage generative AI to accelerate pipeline development and testing.
• Create modular components powering data/AI apps in containerized workflows.
• Build data solutions across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Ensure data quality, security, and governance across environments.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate needs into pipelines.
• Provide technical leadership, design reviews, and guidance on issues.
• Apply Agile and DevSecOps practices to plan and deliver work.
