Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer to lead critical facilities operations across multiple data centers. You will supervise electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems, perform preventative maintenance, and coordinate with on-site technicians and vendors to ensure peak reliability.

The role requires leadership, training, and the ability to manage complex projects, travel between sites, and respond to emergencies to maintain uptime.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of vendor management experience.
• 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
• 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for facilities-related issues and oversee routine and emergency services for critical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot within SLAs.
• Train and guide Engineering Operations Technicians and coordinate with the Facility Manager on team culture.
